Risk Assessment is a fundamental requirement by the Health And Safety Executive in the control of Legionnaires Disease as laid down in the guidelines for all water systems under their Approved Code of Practice (ACOP) entitled.

Legionnaires Disease, The Control of Legionella Bacteria in Water Systems     HSC L8.

This ACOP sets out the requirements of building owners and managers in the control of their water systems and thereby reducing the risk of the proliferation of the legionella bacteria in the water systems.

The systems covered in the ACOP include the following, but not exclusively:

Cooling Systems Domestic Systems Process Systems Air Handling Units

The Risk Assessment looks at all aspects of potential risk on site including domestic and process waters highlighting where the potential risks lie and how you can minimise these risk by incorporating the necessary control measures.
